01 / Configure MCP
Required- In the Reminder app, open Settings → AI tool connections. Create a named credential with read-only or read-write access.
- Find MCP, connectors or external tools in your AI tool’s settings and add a custom remote MCP server.
- Enter the server URL returned by the app. Select Streamable HTTP if a transport type is required.
- Add the Authorization header and paste the complete header value copied from the app. Save and enable the server.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| MCP server URL | Use the URL returned by the app for your account’s service region. |
Authorization | Bearer, one space, then your access token. The app can copy the complete value. |
The full token is shown only when created. Enter it in MCP settings, not in chat, Skill files or URLs. Retrieved content is processed by the AI tool you authorize.
JSON configuration example
Replace the example URL and token. Transport type fields differ across tools; follow your tool’s documentation. The field-based steps above are the general workflow.

02 / Install the Skill
Optional enhancementThe Skill guides the AI through complex planning, dates and retries. Basic MCP features work without it. Installing a Skill does not configure MCP or grant additional permissions.
- Download the complete ZIP package.
- Import it using your tool’s supported method, or extract it and put the complete reminder folder in its documented personal skills directory.
- Keep SKILL.md, references and all other included files together. Reload the Skill or start a new conversation as required by the tool.

How do updates work?
The download button always serves the latest package, but installed Skills do not update automatically. Download it again, re-import it or replace the complete old reminder folder, then reload. MCP configuration and credentials usually need no changes. Check the included VERSION file to identify your installed version.
This update · 0.8.3
Review plans with history support event start clock edits within the same rule-local date, end-time edits, and habit planned-window or all-day changes while preserving completion and check-ins. Anchor dates, recurrence, timezone settings and habit goals remain protected. Requires the matching regional backend update; preserve existing MCP configuration.
03 / Start using
Use the Reminder tool to get the current time and verify the connection.
Show my events and unfinished todos for today.
Save this text as a note in Reminder.
Extract todos from these meeting notes, show them for my confirmation, then add them to Reminder.
Verify with the first example. Creating, updating and deleting require read-write access. Check tool results and verify the data in the app.
Troubleshooting
Unauthorized or expired token
Check the credential in the app. If expired, revoked or invalidated, create a new credential and update MCP manually. Lost tokens also require replacement.
Queries work, but writing fails
Check whether the credential is read-only. Create a read-write credential when needed, update the tool and revoke the old credential if no longer used.
The Skill is installed, but data is unavailable
Skills do not authorize accounts. Configure MCP first and enable the server for the current task or agent.
The Skill is missing or ZIP import is unsupported
Follow your tool’s installation documentation. If it supports folder installation, use the complete extracted reminder folder. MCP remains usable without the Skill.
How do I stop access?
Revoke the credential in the Reminder app. AI tools using it will no longer be able to access your data.
